SAINT PAUL, MN – In response to a federal report detailing the failure of the Minnesota Department of Human Services to adequately oversee adult day facilities, Karin Housley, Minnesota state senator and Republican-endorsed candidate for United States Senate, issued the following statement:
“When government doesn’t live up to its end of the bargain, it’s the people of Minnesota who suffer. The administration of Mark Dayton and Tina Smith consistently failed to hold their own state agencies accountable for even its most basic functions and put thousands of Minnesota children, seniors, and vulnerable adults at risk. That isn’t leadership; it’s negligence. Government should protect the most vulnerable, and it shouldn’t take a scathing federal audit to force them to do their jobs.”
