DULUTH, MN — Karin Housley, Minnesota state senator and Republican candidate for United States Senate, earned the Republican Party of Minnesota’s endorsement at its annual convention at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center on Friday.
“It’s an honor to have the state party’s endorsement and the support of so many of Minnesota’s most committed activists. This election is about putting Minnesotans first,” said Karin Housley. “With the support of the state party, our message of working hard, playing fair, and doing the right thing will continue to echo across the state.”
Housley earned the nomination on the first ballot, with 75 percent of the vote in a three-way race. The first to motion for Karin Housley’s nomination was Carrie Rudd, Minnesota state senator for the Brainerd Lakes area and the first state legislator to endorse Housley’s U.S. Senate campaign. Phil Housley, Karin’s husband, was the second. Housley was joined on stage by her family.
With the endorsement of the Republican Party of Minnesota, Karin Housley has strong grassroots and institutional support ahead of the August 14 primary election.
